Heh heh...

Due to my inability to withstand typing without a functional "o", and after raising my complaint to the technician fellow only to be told that i have to JAM the "o" harder, I was left to my own devices to figure out how to continue working on my report (and blog) from now till the time i leave.

Yesterday, after receiving my pay (woo hoo, its finally here!), i ecstatically turned to blogger with the full intention of exclaiming for joy which subsequently turned out to be the biggest wrestle between the keyboad and yours truly. I left the office with no blogs published and a deflated ego of having the keyboard win yet another round.

This morning, determined to spread the news of my financial status to those who eagerly wish to know back home, I formulated a brilliant plan that’s worthy of any strategy in Sun Tze’s “Art of war”: swapping.

Indeed, I have set my eye on a similar computer’s keyboard for a very long time and I believe this simple art of switching would serve my purpose very well. At 9.20a.m, I snuck into the room and deftly substitute the keyboard with mine and promptly slipped back to my cubicle. By 9.22a.m, I am enjoying my century egg with shredded pork porridge (a good breakfast can now be afforded) and perusing and tagging as many blogs as possible. Muahaha.

Who cares if the keyboard I took belongs to the office’s central conference room? Who cares if it controls the operations and video equipment in that room. Who cares if the central conference room has glass as walls and everyone could see me going and removing the keyboard?

The key here is confidence. Look as if its perfectly normal to go in there with a keyboard and switching the room’s one with yours. In psychology, we learn about something called groupthink. We also learn about something called herd mentality, and we learn more importantly about something called the bystander effect. The more people there are noticing a strange event, the more likely no one would do anything. Theory proven at 9.21a.m.

My sentiments exactly..think it was Dilbert..but he was caught by Phil the Prince of Insufficient Light for stealing a chair..

"The key here is confidence." should be "The keyboard here is mine."
